Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

FASDThe Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) course is for professionals, para-professionals, carers and parents who want a basic understanding of fetal alcohol syndrome and related disorders.

This training program has been developed in response to recommendations made by the peak body for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in Australia, the National Organisation for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Related Disorders (NOFASARD).

The course contains units that discuss six major topics related to this condition.

MODULE 2: A Guide for Professionals/Practitioners: The importance of their role and expertise: Strategies for working with clients with signs and symptoms of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

MODULE 3: A Guide for Living with FASD. (Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder). Strategies for FASD: Management in the home for Parents, Foster & Kinship Caregivers, Community Welfare Workers, Family Support Workers.

MODULE 5: A Guide for Employment Services Specialists and Consultants: Strategies for Employment for individuals with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

MODULE 6: A Guide to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and The Criminal Justice System for Criminal Justice System Professionals, Police, Youth Justice Caseworkers, Department of Communities (DOCS) Professionals.
